Job summary

SSTAR in Fall River, MA is hiring a Referral & Authorization Specialist at an entry level position. You will handle patient insurance referrals, prior authorizations, and coordinate between the Health Center and outside offices to ensure timely care.

Requirements include a high school diploma and prior office experience. The role offers an hourly wage of $18–$22, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities to earn CEUs in a supportive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Arrange outside medical appointments ordered by our providers.
• The Referral & Authorization Specialist will verify insurance and complete prior authorizations
• Liaison between Health Center and outside specialty offices.
• Answering phone calls in the Referral Department
• The Referral & Authorization Specialist will document all referral actions taken in the medical records
• Other duties as required.

The Referral & Authorization Specialist isresponsible for processing patient insurance referrals, priorauthorizations relating to patient care which includes knowledge ofinsurance companies.
