Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Referral Coordinator to manage provider referrals and scheduling across departments at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center. You will handle prior authorizations, maintain strong relationships with referring offices, and ensure timely communication with providers and patients.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, Epic proficiency, and strong organizational and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ months medical office experience with MD interaction.
• Proficiency in prior authorization/certification/referral process.
• Must pass EPIC competency for Registration after Epic Clerical Training.
• Short-term training in Medical Terminology.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Pass annual competency exam for all areas of responsibility.
• Requires strong organizational and multi-tasking skill sets.
• Significant customer service skill set; able to function under pressure with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Navigate complex requests from referring providers and their offices, primarily via phone.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with providers and referring offices.
• Address requests and concerns using knowledge of organization and ability to identify resources; use diplomacy in calls.
• Advanced scheduling for specialty or radiologic procedures; obtain prior authorizations and referrals; scrub schedules for accuracy.
• Use CARES, AIDET and EPE tools to enhance provider experience and communications.
• Ensure timely communications with providers and patients; coordinate referrals across departments.
• Enter all faxed referrals into the EHR and guide referrals through authorization processes.
• Support program providers with scheduling, access coordination, and referral communications.
