Job summary

QuarterLine, a PSI company, seeks a Referral Clerk to support a Military Treatment Facility's referral management. You will handle patient calls, referrals, and appointment coordination with a focus on timely processing and accuracy.

Ideal candidates have strong medical terminology knowledge, medical office experience, and proficiency with electronic health records. This role requires US citizenship and security clearances where applicable.

Qualifications

• 1 year of administrative experience in medical settings.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with electronic health records.
• Ability to obtain background check and security clearances.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must pass background/security investigation and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

Location: US-MD-Joint Base Andrews

Overview

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.


• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.


• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.


• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.


• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.


• Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.


• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.


• Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

• US Citizen.


• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Working knowledge of medical terminology.


• One (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.


• Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.


• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.


• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.


• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training.

Additional Information

• Must pass TB Test.


• Subject to a background/security investigation.


• Willingness to comply with DHA vaccination requirements.
