Job summary

Neighborcare Health is seeking a Referral Specialist at Georgetown Clinic in Seattle. The role focuses on receiving, analyzing, and processing referrals and prior authorizations to meet insurance requirements, ensuring patients are cleared for visits and procedures.

Responsibilities include updating the EHR with authorization details, using ICD-10 and CPT coding, and coordinating with clinical and billing teams to verify benefits and requirements.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 2 years of experience in a medical setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Process physician referral orders (EKG, CT, MRI, etc.) and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Enter notes into the EHR regarding insurance authorizations or referrals.
• Apply knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and communicate results to patients.
• Coordinate with Insurance Verification Team to confirm benefits before referrals.
• Answer incoming calls from patients and insurers and maintain knowledge of billing rules.
