Overview

Southeast Emulsions, a subsidiary of Colas USA, is a leading supplier of emulsion and liquid asphalt products across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, and Arkansas. Reeves Construction Company is recruiting a Laborer / Traffic Control Specialist in Savannah, GA to support a range of construction projects with a strong focus on safety excellence and teamwork.

Main Responsibilities

• Have knowledge of the requirements for erecting and maintaining traffic control signs and other devices as prescribed in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
• Maintain equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly at all times on the projects.
• Carry out detailed instructions, set up and remove traffic control devices, and exercise good judgment in decision making while working without direct supervision.
• Maintain a positive, polite attitude with motorists at all times.
• Work safely in traffic situations and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other general labor duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Provide personal transportation to and from work.
• Have a valid driving license and a driving record that meets company safety guidelines for operating a company vehicle.
• Must pass a DOT Physical for a DOT Medical card.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Compute rates, ratios, percentages and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Resolve problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Flagger/Traffic Control Training Certification (preferred).

Physical Demands

The role requires hands-on activities such as handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 60 pounds. Vision requirements include 20/40 corrected or natural vision. Hearing should be excellent or corrected with an audio device.

Typical environments include exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious locations, toxic or caustic chemicals, and high noise levels.
