Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. is seeking a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor for the Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) in Bakersfield.

The role provides evidence-based counseling, comprehensive assessments, and case management to justice-involved adults in a structured residential setting. You will maintain a caseload, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate with the Supervising SUD Counselor to ensure compliance with CDCR contract requirements and successful

Qualifications

• Must hold AOD certification/license approved by DHCS or be registered and obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Experience with group counseling and CBT approaches.
• Knowledge of confidentiality regulations and HIPAA/PHI handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload and document progress in resident files.
• Deliver individual and group counseling per individualized treatment plans.
• Develop and review treatment plans every 30 days with Supervising SUD Counselor.
• Coordinate with CRT and other teams for seamless reintegration and pass processes.
• Assist residents with discharge planning and access to community services.
