NWRRC in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Resident Re-Entry Specialist – Security to provide 24/7 supervision and support for residents, ensuring a safe, structured environment and adherence to facility rules. You will enforce rules, manage approved passes, and balance accountability with dignity and respect.

The role includes gender-specific pat-downs, medication control, electronic monitoring, incident logging, and liaison with law enforcement and probation agencies.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in re-entry, corrections, law enforcement, security, or related field preferred.
• Ability to maintain vigilance and assess dynamic situations.
• De-escalation and boundary-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with residents, staff, and agencies.
• Attention to detail in documentation and protocol compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor resident behavior 24/7 to ensure rule compliance.
• Maintain a secure, orderly environment through patrols and searches.
• Conduct same-gender pat-down searches and observed urine collection/testing.
• Control and dispense resident medications and self-carry meds.
• Operate automated tracking and monitoring systems.
• Monitor GPS and electronic monitoring reports.
• Maintain sanitation and secure entry/exit procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement.
