Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Case Manager (S) at Avery/Mitchell Correctional Institution in Spruce Pine, NC. You will conduct initial offender assessments, develop case plans, monitor progress, and revise as needed to meet system objectives.

Responsibilities include caseload management, counseling, and coordinating programs for inmate rehabilitation, education, work, and transition planning prior to parole or release.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
• Minimum education as listed; relevant experience preferred.
• Criminal justice education or equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of offenders with counseling and case planning.
• Assess offender behavior and develop counseling strategies.
• Coordinate major programs for rehabilitation and transition planning.
• Plan transition (re-entry) before parole or release.
• Work under stressful conditions with incarcerated individuals.
• Provide supportive counseling techniques and interviewing skills.
• Develop and supervise programs within prison policy framework.
