Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations; inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders; maintain surveillance, including night infrared operations.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry; perform checks at multiple points of entry and along patrol routes.
• Patrol borders and waterways using a variety of government assets to support USBP mission.
