U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a re-employed Border Patrol Agent to protect American borders and enforce immigration laws.

The position starts at GS-12 with a salary range of $91,985 to $119,583 and offers opportunities for accelerated re-entry training and a fast-track pre-employment process. Selected candidates will work in various USBP sectors, selecting up to two preferred locations.

Qualifications

• Specialized law enforcement experience required to interpret and enforce immigration laws.
• One year of specialized work experience equivalent to the next lower grade.
• Background checks, security clearances, and drug testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Protect borders by enforcing immigration and criminal laws at land, sea, or air.
• Detect, question, inspect documents to identify citizenship and violations.
• Pursue and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using various assets.
• Engage in patrols across sectors and support task forces as assigned.
