Job summary

Salvation Army in Richmond, VA is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Assistant for their Christmas program. The role focuses on recruiting and coordinating bell ringers, ensuring adequate staffing for locations, and maintaining essential records.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and experience in office/data entry with customer service. Prior kettle fundraising experience is a plus as are strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required; two years of general office and/or data entry experience in a customer service setting preferred.
• One year experience with kettle fundraising programs preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, coordinate, and monitor the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers to meet location needs.
• Prepare records and reports regarding volunteer activities and fundraising efforts.
• Possess knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
• Follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
• Prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff.
• Lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff.

This position is responsible for:

Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
• Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
