Job summary

PADNOS in Lansing, MI is seeking a Yard Associate to inspect materials, sort non-ferrous metals, and upgrade materials to meet quality standards. You will operate small equipment and help prepare shipments while delivering friendly, safe service to customers.

Qualifications

• Six months’ small equipment experience preferred.
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accuracy in operation and attention to detail.
• Knowledge in inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Sort, process and inventory material (Non-Ferrous Metals) by operating shears, balers, loaders and forklifts.
• Assist with purchasing various grades of recyclable materials from customers.
• Support customers with the unloading of materials.
• Assist with preparing, packing, and loading materials for shipment.
• Sort and process materials in accordance with company standards.
• Operate equipment such as loaders, forklifts, or other machinery as needed.
• Assist with vehicle and appliance processing activities.
• Conduct basic inspections and documentation as required.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with material tracking.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Position Summary

The Yard Associate interacts with customers while inspecting various grades of material upon delivery into the yard.Sort and upgrade materials to meet quality standards per established protocols. Operate small equipment as needed to process and prepare material prior to shipment.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, some Saturdays as needed
• 7am to 5pm
