Job summary

County of Kauaʻi is seeking a Recycling Specialist I to support the county's recycling and waste reduction programs. The role involves coordinating educational and promotional activities, implementing programs, and assisting with data collection and reporting.

Under supervision, you will disseminate materials to communities, conduct studies, and help track progress. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of professional experience in recycling/waste reduction programs.
• Experience coordinating and implementing recycling or comparable programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, develops, implements and monitors recycling programs and education activities.
• Disseminates materials to schools and community groups and conducts outreach.
• Conducts feasibility studies and assists with system design studies for programs.
• Prepares reports and responds to routine recycling-related queries from stakeholders.
