County of Kauaʻi is seeking a Recycling Specialist I to assist in implementing recycling and waste-reduction programs for the department. You will coordinate routine projects, disseminate information to schools and community groups, and help maintain program databases and reports.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of professional recycling program experience, with a Monday–Friday work schedule and civil service status.

Formación

• Education: bachelor’s degree in business/public administration, urban planning, civil/environmental engineering, environmental science or public health or related field.
• 1 year of professional experience in implementing/coordinating recycling or waste-reduction programs.

Responsabilidades

• Organize, develop, implement, monitor routine recycling/waste-reduction programs and related projects.
• Disseminate materials to schools, community groups, associations.
• Conduct feasibility and system design studies and maintain program databases.
• Process registrations and license applications; conduct research; analyze data.
• Respond to routine recycling queries from businesses and public.
• Assist with more complex programs as competency grows and perform related duties.
