Qualifications

• Experience sorting recyclable materials in a recycling facility.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste into appropriate streams.
• Deposit recoverable materials into the correct chute safely and efficiently.
• Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor in emergencies.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable waste and remove items as required.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding special loads needing attention.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
