Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on Recycling Plant Operator. You will run a concrete/asphalt recycling plant, adjust crusher settings, monitor quality, and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.

You will also operate loaders and excavators, participate in safety planning, and maintain a clean, compliant work area. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience in aggregate/recycling/mining environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and

Qualifications

• Over 3 years of experience operating crushing and screening equipment in aggregate, recycling, or mining environments.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on plant machinery.
• Understanding of how crusher settings, feed rates, and screen configurations influence product quality and production efficiency.
• Proficient in welding and fabrication; able to operate loaders and excavators to support plant operations.
• Strong situational awareness, adherence to safety practices, and reliable communication and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a full concrete/asphalt recycling plant including crushers, screens, magnets, and conveyors.
• Manage plant sequencing, adjust settings and feed rates, and maintain product quality through real-time assessment.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot to reduce downtime, and manage inbound material contamination.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including belt tracking, bearing changes, and lubrication.
• Support safe operations by conducting pre‑operational inspections and using loaders/excavators; maintain clean, compliant work areas.
