Job summary

City of Abilene Environmental Recycling Center seeks a skilled equipment operator to support recycling operations. You will drive roll-off and front loader trucks, assist with grinding and mulch tasks, and help maintain site safety and grounds.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and relevant equipment experience. A valid Texas Class B CDL is preferred, with a focus on safe operation and route efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 18 months of experience operating Commercial Roll Off Vehicles, Wheel Loaders and farm-type tractors is preferred.
• 1 year utilizing business computers, email, and POS terminals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates roll-off or front loader truck for recycling collection routes.
• Performs daily/weekly preventive maintenance on tractors and wheel loaders.
• Maintains/builds grounds and tree limb service areas for safety and appearance.
• Operates tractor with front loading bucket or wheel loader for chipping, mulch loading, and grounds work.
• Performs or assists in tree limb grinding and offsite recycle route completion.
• Follows safety rules and reports unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries.
