Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in St Marys, WV is seeking a Recycling Associate to operate grinding equipment on scrap material and support our recycling operations to improve processing and reduce waste.

This full‑time day shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with potential 12‑hour 2‑2‑3 schedule) emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate inventory; training and benefits start from day one. You will sort contaminants, assist with maintenance, and help other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Able to stand on concrete flooring for extended periods.
• Capable of reaching, bending and climbing as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment on scrap material to support recycling operations.
• Sort window plant cutoffs by color and inspect for non-grindable contaminants.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of grinding equipment.
• Load and unload scrap trailers and move materials with fork truck or pallet jack.
• Maintain inventory systems accuracy and support safety rules on site.
• Collaborate with team and other departments as required.

Starting Pay $17/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Recycling Associate to join our team in St Marys, WV. In this role, you will be responsible for using grinding equipment on scrap material and supporting our recycling operations to ensure efficient material processing and waste reduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety is your #1 priority while on the premises and follow all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures while performing all job tasks
• Sort window plant cutoffs by color, inspecting for non‑grindable contaminates
• Assist with preventative maintenance of grinding equipment
• Operate fork truck as needed
• Operate pallet jack as needed
• Load and unload scrap trailers
• Maintain inventory systems accuracy (including basic math and data entry)
• Adhere to all SimEx Housekeeping standards
• Be a contributing member of your crew
• Assist other SimEx departments when needed
• Complete any other tasks assigned by your Supervisor

Shift is currently Mon-Fri 6a - 2:30p, this is subject to change and could become a 2-2-3 schedule working 12 hour shifts.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand on concrete flooring for up to 12 hours a day
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl if necessary
• Ability to reach with hands and arms repetitively
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
