Job summary

The Leon Institute is seeking a licensed behavioral health clinician for a full-time on-site role at the Long Beach Campus, collaborating with NHHA, WPCC and EH. You will conduct assessments, identify behavioral health needs, and provide brief counseling and crisis intervention in a Recuperative Care setting.

Qualifications

• Valid active LCSW/LPCC/LMFT license in California.
• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
• Experience with vulnerable populations, homelessness, SMI, co-morbidity.
• Trauma-informed care understanding.
• Crisis de-escalation and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to documentation and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral health support to clients in a Recuperative Care setting.
• Conduct behavioral health assessments and develop treatment plan goals.
• Deliver brief counseling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and substance use interventions.
• Develop and implement skill-building, relapse prevention, and process groups; innovate as needed.
• Coordinate with outside clinical teams and partner organizations.
• Work with vulnerable populations and provide psychoeducation to non-licensed staff.
• Facilitate supervision for associate clinicians and comply with CA BBS requirements.
• Engage with cross-disciplinary treatment teams and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
