Job summary

KIPP Texas is seeking a Recruitment and Community Coordinator to lead outreach, community engagement, and a yearly student recruitment plan aligned with the region's goals. This role emphasizes field-based application acquisition, relationship-building with neighborhood partners, and tracking ROI through a CRM.

The candidate should be bilingual in English and Spanish, able to manage multiple priorities, and willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and/or 4 years of similar experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Job-related experience with recruitment-related work is preferable in a business, nonprofit, education, community engagement, or advocacy organization.
  • Strong cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to an overall regional application goal through recruitment activities.
  • Prepare for and execute recruitment activities such as block walking, tabling, and community events.
  • Pitch KIPP Texas to prospective families to meet recruitment goals.
  • Maintain weekly field plans to track investments, outcomes, and ROI.
  • Orient volunteers during recruitment activities and follow up with leads via CRM.
  • Deliver collateral to businesses, daycare partners, and community sites to raise awareness of offerings.
  • Collaborate with partners to identify collaboration opportunities and enrollments.
  • Join weekly manager check-ins and participate in monthly professional development.
  • Upload leads into CRM and manage SchoolMint validations and data quality.

Job Description

The Recruitment and Community Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for outreach, community engagement, and implementing an annual student recruitment plan that aligns with our region’s student recruitment goals. This individual will be expected to spend the majority of their time focused on application acquisition efforts in the community. To be successful in this role, an RCC brings a track record for implementing successful recruitment strategies by using diverse in-field tactics, building relationships with neighborhood partners, and meeting weekly targets. An RCC should be comfortable working in an environment that requires you to juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines, while never losing sight of the overarching goals and desired outcomes. An RCC must be available to work flexible hours, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
Application Acquisition Efforts
  • Responsible for contributing to an overall application goal for the region through participation in recruitment activities.
  • Prepares for and executes recruitment activities which may include: block walking, tabling, and participating in community events across the entire region
  • Effectively pitches KIPP Texas as a school option to prospective families in the field to meet the application goal set for the intended recruitment activity
  • Maintains weekly field plans on an ongoing basis to track recruitment investments, outcomes, and returns on investment
  • Orients volunteers during recruitment activities to accomplish assigned functions
  • Follows up with leads through our CRM system.
Awareness and Nurture Strategy
  • Drops off collateral and relevant marketing materials to businesses, daycare partners, apartment complexes, nonprofits, etc. to build awareness of our academic offerings
  • Follows up with prospective community partners to secure potential recruitment opportunities or other resources.
Administrative Tasks
  • Joins weekly check-ins with manager to get ongoing direction, feedback, and coaching
  • Participates in quarterly meetings and monthly professional development opportunities
  • Fields recruitment-related inquiries from School Leaders and Operations Leaders
  • Works closely with community partners to identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Uploads all leads collected in the field into our CRM system
  • Executes daily SchoolMint actions, which include applying priority validations, removing duplicate and current student applications, and updating unconfirmed addresses or phone numbers.
Other duties as assigned.

  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the KIPP Texas mission and community
  • Service-oriented, able to adapt to a changing environment while applying flexibility to work under pressure and remaining calm amid competing demands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google applications (Sheets, Docs, Google Drive), with the ability to quickly learn new technologies (SchoolMint, Slack, video conferencing apps, etc.)
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between campuses and to and from community events/meetings.
