Description
The Recruitment and Retention Coordinator will work under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator to administer and implement recruitment and onboarding processes for the College Corps Fellows.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate member recruitment, selection, and experience.
- Manage and coordinate recruitment, selection, supervision, evaluation, and exit of College Corps Fellows.
- Support trainings and activities for Fellows including orientation, Partner‑Fellow Fair, paperwork completion parties, professional development, service days, reflection activities, and closure activities.
- Implement group engagement and participation strategies for Fellows using social media, email, meetings, and engagement on CSUMB MyRaft.
- Perform administrative duties including tracking Fellows’ hours and coordinating onboarding processes including background checks and TB testing.
- Coordinate documentation of all correspondence, reports, procedures, and presentations related to the program.
- Follow procedures and policies for coordinating with various university departments and partners.
- Collaborate with Service Learning Institute activities and programs by attending staff meetings, participating in outreach events, and contributing to institute programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Working experience with first‑generation, low‑income youth and/or college students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience with service learning, experiential education, and/or civic engagement.
- Working knowledge of best practices in student‑oriented success and mentorship.
- Experience and knowledge of success practices with undocumented students and AB540 eligible students.
- Experience in program development and program evaluation.
- Understanding and analysis of challenges that impact first‑generation college students and low‑income students and how to develop leadership potential.
- Experience in planning and facilitation training for students, staff, faculty, and/or community partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and administrators in K12 settings, community partners in nonprofits, faculty, and university partners.
- Strong leadership, team‑building, and group facilitation skills.
- Skills in recruitment, social media, and outreach.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills utilizing tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to increase representation, voice, and equitable treatment of underrepresented student, staff, faculty, and/or community groups and to advance the university goals of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSUMB Vision Statement and the core values of mutual respect, collaboration and service orientation, multiculturalism and diversity, community service and institutional excellence.
Special Conditions of Employment
- Sensitive position with responsibility for the care, safety, and security of people (including children and minors), animals, and CSU property.
- Responsibility for detailed personally identifiable Level 1 confidential information.
- Control over campus business processes or system security access.
- Must comply with FERPA and California’s Educational Code regarding sensitive student issues.
- Position designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA), requires training and reporting of incidents.
- Position designated as mandated reporter under California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and Title IX reporting requirements.
- Employment contingent upon successful background check in accordance with California Fair Chance Act.
- May require occasional evenings and/or weekend work.
