Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to leverage the efforts of LeBow College of Business in the areas of recruitment, retention, student services, engagement as well as to support instruction and curriculum development in the freshman business sequence. This position is responsible for oversight and support of LeBow Summer Programs, pre-college programming, program management for LeBow learning communities/cohorts, program management for the dean's student advisory board (DSAB) and honors day and other retention effort coordination. The Recruitment and Programming Specialist will cooperate with Drexel University's faculty, administration and external stakeholders in providing logistics and execution for undergraduate student programming, recruitment, and retention. The Recruitment and Programming Specialist reports to the Director of UG Program and Recruitment, works closely with the Asst Director of Recruitment and Retention, LeBow Student Services/Advising Staff, and LeBow faculty.

  • Manage the recruitment and logistical process for LeBow pre-college programs
  • Serve as the co-chair of the LeBow Student Group Roundtable
  • Coordinate the initiatives of LeBow College's business student groups.
  • Manage and recruit students to serve on Dean's Student Advisory Board
  • Management and program development for LeBow learning communities including BLC, GLC and CLC.
  • Assist UG Programming in developing annual retention-based programing for students, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Administrative responsibilities student workers
  • Participation in commencement activities
  • Assist in developing freshmen culture program for international and domestic students
  • Oversee domestic high school partnerships
  • Overnights will be required
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Essential Functions
  • Recruitment:
    • Attend and actively participate in all enrollment management activities, including open house, admitted student days, daily, visits, etc.
    • Actively schedule and participate in college anti-melt activities.
    • Empower prospective students to make informed decisions regarding personal, professional, enrollment, and academic needs within the context of their academic ambitions, career goals, and rights and responsibilities.
    • Responsible for management of LeBow pre-college programs.
    • Off site representation for LeBow and Drexel University.
    • Coordination of high school partnership opportunities.
    • Familiarity with DECA, FBLA, and other student organizations.
  • Retention:
    • Support College Day activities.
    • Coordinate programming for LeBow Launch.
    • Manage and provide oversight for retention initiatives, e.g., rising stars award, etc.
    • Oversee DSAB meetings and program coordination.
    • Support in administration of Anti-Melt initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of At least 1-2 years of job-related experience in advising, student life, admissions and/or recruiting, teaching and/or coaching, non-profit work.
  • Ability to work evenings, overnights, and/or weekends as related to essential duties.
  • Documented project management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to outstanding concern and service to customers.
  • Strong organizational, time management, data analytics, project management skills required
  • Practical experience with young adults, student development, relationship building
  • Foundational understanding best practices, trends, and approaches in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstratable proficiency with PC's and related software, experience with Banner, Hyperion, Canvas, and meeting software.
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and skills.
  • Must possess subject matter expertise including extensive knowledge of university offerings, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common personal computer applications.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade I.
Compensation for this grade ranges from $45,330.00 - $68,000.00 per year.
Please note that the offered rate for this position will vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
