Job summary

T&J Travel Centers is seeking a part-time Recruiting Coordinator to handle first contact with applicants, schedule interviews and trial shifts, and maintain accurate records. This role supports our training director and may operate in a remote or hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Make first contact with applicants within two business days of applying.
• Clarify store, availability and role interest; schedule eligible applicants.
• Coordinate trial shifts; confirm dates and locations; send reminders.
• Maintain applicant records in Rippling or designated tracker.
• Track openings by store/role with director and GMs; reconnect with waitlisted applicants.
• Confirm outcomes with director and update openings; log no-shows.

Recruiting Coordinator

Reports to the Director of Training & Development

Be the first person an applicant hears from at T&J. Turn applications into conversations and well-organized trial shifts for our hourly front-of-house and kitchen teams, giving our training director more time with new employees.

Work across weekdays, with room for hours to grow. Midland-Odessa residency is not required. Your director and GM own hiring decisions, offers, applicant selection updates, and training.

What you will own

First contact. Call every applicant within two business days of applying, even without an opening. Return calls and log attempts.

The conversation. Follow your director's guidelines. Confirm store, availability, and role interest; schedule eligible applicants and flag exceptions.

Trial shifts. Coordinate with your director. Confirm dates and locations with both parties, send reminders, and reschedule as needed.

Applicant records. Keep contact details, notes, status, and next steps current in Rippling or the designated tracker.

Staffing needs. Track openings by store and role with your director and GMs. Reconnect with waiting applicants when openings fit.

The follow-up. Confirm trial-shift outcomes with your director and update openings. Record no-shows and remove them from the active process.
