Job summary

Tarzan & Jane Travel Centers is seeking an IT & Systems Manager to own the technology for every store, ensuring uptime and seamless integration of systems across all locations. You will manage registers, network, back office, Tarzan Grill menus, and future tools, with success measured by fast issue resolution and root cause fixes.

Responsibilities include vendor relations (Verifone, Acumera, Modisoft), building internal tools with Claude Code/ChatGPT Codex, and ensuring new stores open with

Qualifications

• 3+ years supporting store, restaurant or retail systems.
• Networking experience: switches, VLANs, ISP failover, Meraki dashboard.
• Experience building or rebuilding POS menus and understanding reports.
• Working with Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex to build tools.

Responsibilities

• Own IT systems across all stores to keep operations running smoothly.
• Serve as single point of contact for Verifone, Acumera, Modisoft and POS vendors.
• Build Tarzan Grill menus on all POS platforms for consistent reporting.
• Manage crew member access, onboarding and offboarding in a password system.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards using Claude Code and Codex.
• Open new stores with tested networks, registers, displays and cameras.

MISSION OF THE ROLE

Own every IT system we run on, so our stores stay up, our systems stay integrated and clean, and everything runs smooth across every store.

What you'll do

You'll be the one person accountable for the technology in every store: registers, network, back office, the Tarzan Grill menus, and the tools we haven't built yet. Nobody has held this seat before you.

Your success will be measured by how well you:

• Keep the stores running as the first call for every store issue, from a manager's laptop to a register that won't talk to the back office, fixed the same day
• Find the root cause when something breaks twice, and write the fix down so it stays fixed
• Manage the vendors. You are our main point of contact for Verifone, Acumera, Modisoft and the restaurant POS vendors. Problems go in as tickets and get followed until they close.
• Build the Tarzan Grill menus on all three POS platforms so the same burger reports as the same burger everywhere
• Manage Crew Member access. Every login, register code and admin account in a password manager. A new hire has what they need on day one, and when somebody leaves their access is gone that day.
• Build our own tools with Claude Code, from dashboards and small internal apps to connections between systems that don't talk to each other
• Open our new stores with the network, registers, kitchen displays, cameras and internet tested before the doors open

What you bring

• 3+ years supporting store, restaurant or retail systems in the field
• Networking you can put to work: switches, VLANs, ISP failover, and reading a Meraki dashboard
• Experience building or rebuilding POS menus, and an understanding of how that structure shapes the reports
• A working tool you have built with Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex, and we would love to see it
• The ability to explain a technical problem in plain language to a manager or a cashier
• Hands-on at every layer, from the cable under the counter to the vendor email
• Based in or near Midland
