Job description

Humanaut Health is a health optimization and longevity clinic helping men and women live vibrantly for decades. Our members are "midlife navigators" and health enthusiasts seeking innovative solutions for aging-related concerns such as pain, energy, weight, activity levels, appearance, perimenopause, and sexual health, as well as disease prevention.

We meet these needs with an integrative approach and a human touch. Licensed medical providers translate comprehensive assessments and personal goals into personalized care plans focused on optimal health. Plans may include traditional, hormone, peptide, regenerative, and lifestyle medicine. Care is delivered in person at our state-of-the-art clinics and supported through telemedicine and digital tools. We operate clinics in Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and we plan to open 100 clinics over the next four years.

Job Description:

The Recruiter & HR Generalist position is a hands-on role that splits time between recruiting and HR generalist work for a growing, multi-site healthcare company. To start, expect roughly half your time on each, but varies with business needs. As Humanaut opens new clinics and hiring picks up, recruiting will become a larger share of the role.

On the recruiting side, you will lead full-cycle hiring for clinical and corporate roles once they have been defined. About 70% of our hiring is clinical (nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, and clinic staff), and the rest spans sales, marketing, operations, and administrative roles. We expect 15-30 hires a year.

On the HR side, you will be the first point of contact for employees and managers across our clinics, handling employee relations, benefits and leave, onboarding, and HR compliance. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and bring them the issues that need their judgment or approval.

This role is based in Austin, Texas, and recruits for our other clinics remotely. Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for non-executive clinical and corporate roles, from intake through accepted offer
  • Lead intake meetings with hiring managers to confirm role requirements, must-have qualifications, and timelines, and flag when expectations are out of step with the candidate market
  • Develop and carry out a sourcing plan for each role, choosing the right mix of job boards, professional networks, nursing and NP programs, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Screen and assess candidates against role requirements, evaluating clinical credentials, licensure, experience, and fit with Humanaut's care model
  • Recommend which candidates advance to hiring manager interviews and provide written assessments to support hiring decisions
  • Present and negotiate offers within approved compensation ranges, and advise the Director of People & Culture when a candidate's expectations fall outside the range
  • Verify licensure, certifications, and references for clinical candidates, and coordinate background checks
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and pipeline data in our applicant tracking system
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics (time to fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate) and recommend improvements
  • Build ongoing candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill clinical roles, especially NPs and RNs
HR Generalist Responsibilities
Employee relations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager questions and concerns across all clinics
  • Advise managers on performance conversations, documentation, and corrective action, applying company policy consistently
  • Conduct intake on employee complaints, assess the issue, and elevate as appropriate; support workplace investigations
  • Identify patterns in employee concerns or turnover and recommend actions to address them
Benefits & leave
  • Guide employees through benefits enrollment, life events, and plan questions in partnership with our PEO
  • Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state leave, ADA accommodation requests), including eligibility review, documentation, and return-to-work coordination
  • Answer pay and policy questions and resolve issues with payroll and the PEO
Onboarding & offboarding
  • Lead new hire orientation and first-week onboarding for employees across all clinics
  • Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins with new hires, and flag early retention or performance concerns
  • Manage offboarding, including exit interviews, and share themes with the COO
HR operations & compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee records in Justworks and our HR systems, and support the selection and rollout of new HR tools
  • Keep required postings, policy acknowledgments, and compliance training current across multiple states
  • Help update the employee handbook and HR policies as the company grows into new states
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Austin, TX based; this is a full-time position, with 2 days per week required in our downtown office
  • 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred, especially recruiting NPs, RNs, or medical assistants
  • Working knowledge of employee relations, leave administration (FMLA, ADA), and multi-state employment compliance
  • Experience with a PEO or HRIS, and with an applicant tracking system
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential employee matters
  • Comfortable giving managers and hiring managers clear, direct recommendations
  • Able to balance open recruiting searches with day-to-day HR work, and to shift between the two as priorities change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary plus bonus potential based on company and individual performance
  • An autonomous, fast-paced startup environment in a dynamic and growing industry
  • Opportunity to work directly with world-class physicians in the wellness and longevity space
  • Meaningful work that makes a difference for our patients and contributes to advancing health optimization science
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
  • Group medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) and company-paid life insurance
  • Substantial employee-only membership and service discounts to ensure our team can fully experience the benefits of health optimization firsthand
