Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Recruiter 1. The Recruiter 1 will serve as the primary recruitment representative for Nevada State University at the North Las Vegas campus, developing relationships with high schools, community partners, and prospective students to increase first‑year enrollment. This position is responsible for managing a designated recruitment territory, implementing outreach initiatives, supporting the Direct Admissions Program (DAP), and guiding prospective students and their families through the admissions process. Through presentations, application and scholarship workshops, recruitment events, and personalized communication, the Recruiter I promotes Nevada State University’s mission and educational opportunities while advancing the University’s enrollment goals. The position also supports transfer recruitment initiatives, including recruitment activities at the College of Southern Nevada, to strengthen enrollment pipelines and expand access to higher education.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage a designated recruitment territory, with primary responsibility for North Las Vegas high schools, the College of Southern Nevada, and recruitment activities in northern Nevada.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, administrators, teachers, and community partners.
• Recruit prospective first-year students through high school visits, college fairs, community events, and on-campus programs.
• Conduct admissions presentations, application workshops, scholarship and financial aid information sessions, and parent/family presentations.
• Guide prospective students and families through the admissions and enrollment process by providing personalized counseling and support.
• Recruit and support students participating in the Direct Admissions Program (DAP) and other strategic enrollment initiatives.
• Maintain ongoing communication with prospective students through phone, email and text messaging, to encourage application completion, admission, orientation registration, and enrollment.
• Support the recruitment of transfer students by conducting outreach aimed at prospective students, forging partnerships with transfer institution stakeholders, participating in recruitment events at the College of Southern Nevada and other community partners and contributing to other related recruitment activities
• Document recruitment activities, maintain accurate records, monitor recruitment outcomes, and assist with reports and enrollment initiatives.
• Collaborate with Admissions & Recruitment staff and campus partners to achieve enrollment goals and support special projects and events.
• Travel throughout the assigned recruitment territory, including some evenings and weekends, to support recruitment and outreach activities during peak times.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in higher education, K-12 education, business, communication or related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to give effective and engaging presentations to both small and large groups.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders.
• Strong commitment to the recruitment and success of a largely diverse first-generation student population (including both first-year and transfer students).
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver's license and current vehicle registration.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in marketing, sales, or public relations.
• Two (2) or more years of professional experience in higher education setting, particularly as a first-year or transfer recruiter.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar student information system and Element451 or similar customer relations management (CRM) platform.
• Experience in coordinating and managing events of varying sizes.

Salary & Benefits

Budgeted salary for this position is $46,057. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including 19.25% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
