Job Description

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of1000 Hour Appointment - Event Coordinator (Events ProcessingEmphasis). The 1000 Hour Appointment will serve as a centralresource for campus event scheduling and event processing,supporting the review, coordination, and administration of eventrequests from initial submission through completion. Workingclosely with the Events Team, the Event Coordinator acts as aliaison between event organizers and campus partners, coordinatesevent logistics, maintains event management systems and calendars,and helps ensure campus events are delivered efficiently andsuccessfully. Core Responsibilities
  • Review, process, and coordinate campus event requests frominitial submission through event completion.
  • Coordinate event scheduling and maintain accurate reservationsusing the university's event management systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff,students, and external clients regarding event procedures,scheduling, and logistics.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including room setups, equipmentrequests, audio-visual needs, catering, vendor services, andfacility access.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and vendors to ensure eventrequirements are communicated and services are deliveredsuccessfully.
  • Develop event setup diagrams and maintain accurate eventrecords and documentation.
  • Manage and update the university's online events calendar andrelated event information.
  • Provide guidance on event policies, scheduling procedures, andvenue options to support successful event planning.
  • Assist with on-site event support for university events asneeded.
  • Support planning and operational activities for signatureuniversity events.
  • Maintain event equipment, supplies, and departmentalresources.
  • Collaborate with the full‑time Event Coordinator and broaderEvents Team to ensure continuity of operations and exceptionalcustomer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to organize multiple projects andpriorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-pacedenvironment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillswith a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as partof a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability tolearn new technology and software systems.
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, andweekends in support of university events.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship(Nevada State does not sponsor employment‑related visas).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management,communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or anequivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience coordinating events, meetings, conferences, orspecial events.
  • Experience in higher education, hospitality, conferenceservices, venue management, or a related field.
  • Experience reviewing and processing event requests orcoordinating facility scheduling.
  • Experience providing customer service in a fast‑paced,client‑facing environment.
  • Experience using event management, scheduling, or projectmanagement software.
  • Experience with 25Live, Localist/Concept3D, Asana, SocialTables (Cvent Event Diagramming), Canva, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of event planning principles and eventlogistics.
  • Experience supporting on‑site event operations ispreferred.
  • Bulleted list of preferred qualifications.
Work Hours

This position will work 20 hours per week.

Hourly Rate

$24.00 per hour.
