Position Overview

We're looking to add a recruiter to support our Midwest region due to internal progression! In this role, you'll be asked to perform full-cycle recruiting across UES operations throughout the Midwest while working closely with Talent Acquisition leadership. This role partners with hiring managers, operational leaders, and Human Resources to attract and hire talent that meets current workforce needs and contributes to continued business growth.

This position is designed for a recruiter with foundational recruiting experience who is ready to further develop their capabilities in full-cycle recruitment, proactive sourcing, candidate assessment, hiring manager partnership, market research, and recruiting strategy. With coaching and guidance from experienced Talent Acquisition team members, you will develop greater independence and take increasing ownership of searches across multiple Midwest branches, markets, and states.

Success in this role requires strong organization, communication, follow-through, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. You'll have the opportunity to build recruiting expertise, develop strong business partnerships, and gain exposure to increasingly complex searches and Talent Acquisition initiatives.

Responsibilities

What your work will look like:

  • Support full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, offer support, and pre-employment activities.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition leadership to learn the business, understand regional hiring priorities, and develop and adjust recruiting strategies based on position requirements, candidate availability, and market conditions.
  • Lead intake discussions with hiring managers to understand business needs, position requirements, urgency, and desired candidate profiles.
  • Build relationships with Area Managers, Branch Managers, Department Managers, Project Managers, HR Business Partners, and other hiring partners.
  • Recruit across construction materials testing and inspection, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, drilling, laboratory operations, engineering, project management, and other business functions.
  • Proactively identify active and passive candidates using various recruiting technology platforms, referrals, professional organizations, networking, career fairs, and other sourcing channels while developing techniques for increasingly difficult-to-fill and specialized searches.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for recurring hiring needs across Midwest markets.
  • Conduct recruiter screens to evaluate candidate experience, qualifications, career interests, compensation expectations, location and travel requirements, availability, and overall alignment with opportunities.
  • Prepare candidate submittals that clearly communicate qualifications, motivations, expectations, and recruiter observations to support hiring decisions.
  • Maintain regular communication with hiring managers regarding candidate activity, interview progress, recruiting challenges, and next steps to support timely feedback and hiring decisions.
  • Create compelling recruitment marketing content while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
  • Provide a positive, responsive, and professional candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate, requisition, interview, and hiring information within the applicant tracking system, following applicable federal/state guidelines as well as UES policies/processes.
  • Participate in college, university, technical school, vocational school, and community recruiting events and help develop partnerships that strengthen regional talent pipelines.
  • Travel periodically throughout the Midwest for career fairs, recruiting events, branch visits, and other business needs.
Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple open roles and priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in candidate and stakeholder interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally for recruitment events
Preferred Qualifications
