  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of AMERISAFE systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation.

  • Responsible for the entire recruitment process: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, follow-up and support.
  • Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to understand requirements and build recruitment strategies.
  • Proactively source active and passive candidates through traditional and alternative channels.
  • Leverage external hiring sources, including LinkedIn, Indeed, and professional organizations.
  • Review job descriptions and postings to attract candidates effectively.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications professionally.
  • Conduct reference checks and provide recruitment metrics monthly.
  • Participate in job fairs, recruiting events and networking opportunities.
  • Promote AMERISAFE culture, values and employer brand to attract long-term fits.
  • Ensure recruitment activities comply with federal, state and local employment laws and pay transparency.

Position Summary:

This position leads recruitment efforts for all positions across the organization, including entry-level, professional, technical and management roles. Partnerships with department leaders and hiring managers are essential to success in identifying talent needs, developing sourcing strategies and delivering qualified candidates that support departmental and organizational goals. Understanding and embracing company culture are significant in promoting the AMERISAFE brand and ensuring candidates align long-term.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage recruitment efforts for positions across the Company
    • Entry level, professional, technical, management
  • Responsible for entire recruitment process: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, follow-up and support
  • Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to understand job requirements, develop recruitment strategies, prioritize openings and create a pipeline to anticipate hiring needs
  • Proactively source of both active and passive candidates, leveraging traditional and alternative candidate channels
  • Leverage external hiring sources, including LinkedIn, Indeed, State Departments of Insurance, Professional Organizations focused on specific roles such as premium audit, claims, safety, sales, etc.
  • Evaluate external Company paid hiring sources to identify gaps and develop a plan to address those gaps
  • Leverage extended screening opportunities to identify qualifications, interest, compensation expectations, availability and potential match with position requirements
  • Review job descriptions and postings for effective attraction of candidates
  • Coordinate and facilitate interview scheduling and candidate communications in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Provide updates regarding candidate pipelines and activity throughout the hiring process
  • Provide reports on recruitment metrics on a monthly basis
  • Participate in job fairs, recruiting events and networking opportunities
  • Promote AMERISAFE culture, values and employer brand seeking candidates that align long-term
  • Ensure recruitment activities comply with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, particularly related to pay transparency
  • Support and provide cross-functional backup for all Human Resources processes, as needed
Qualifications:
  • Three years of recruiting and related HR experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS) required; experience in ADP preferred
  • Ability and capability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the Company
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of, or the ability to learn, specific AMERISAFE systems
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation
  • Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership and service.

Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene. Note - All positions that require driving for the company are considered safety-sensitive positions.
