Job summary

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) seeks a Recreational Therapist to plan, coordinate, and direct therapeutic activities for patients as defined in each Person Center Plan of Service. You will conduct recreation therapy assessments, set goals, administer treatment, and document patient progress.

You will join an interdisciplinary team on the assigned unit(s) and perform duties of a Treatment Coordinator as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy is required.
• One year of professional experience providing recreational therapy services equivalent to a Recreational Therapist 9.
• Two years of professional experience providing recreational therapy services equivalent to a Recreational Therapist, including one year equivalent to a Recreational Therapist 10.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct recreation therapy for patients as defined in each Person Center Plan of Service.
• Conduct recreation therapy assessments, identify treatment goals/interventions, administer treatment, and document patient response to treatment and progress related to activity therapy goals for each patient assigned to the case load.
• Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team for assigned unit(s) and perform fully the scope of duties of a Treatment Coordinator as assigned.
