Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan is seeking a Recreation Therapist to assist in planning and implementing recreation therapy groups tailored to meet the needs of participants. The role involves continuous evaluation and improvement of the program, participating in assessments, and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, be authorized to practice in Michigan, and have a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certificate. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to practice in Michigan.
• One year of experience with a frail or elderly population.
• Physical ability to assist participants with ambulation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the development of the monthly recreation therapy calendar.
• Facilitates RT groups according to care plan goals.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Ensures timely and accurate completion of documentation.
