Job summary

Banner Behavioral Health Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide therapeutic groups and rehabilitation services for patients across age groups. You will work with nurses, specialists and physicians to deliver compassionate care in a structured setting, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The role emphasizes documenting progress, following evidence-based treatment plans, and contributing to program development within Banner Health’s behavioral health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or Human Services from an accredited university training program.
• Licensure as required by state of practice.
• Requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers. Must have strong interpersonal communications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients' leisure abilities and limitations to determine appropriate intervention and develop a care plan.
• Implements individualized treatment plans for leisure activities considering patients' needs.
• Educates patients and families to promote participation and home program adherence.
• Documents patient participation and progress according to standards.
• Participates in program development of recreational therapy services.
• Assists with staff orientation and coordination of workflow as needed.
• Follows plan of care with supervision and collaboration of the treatment team.
