Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System seeks a highly capable Recreation Therapist to support inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. You will conduct assessments, design therapy plans, and lead group activities that promote socialization and recovery.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's in Recreation Therapy, possess BLS credentials, and be prepared to educate patients and families on leisure activities and community resources within a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
• BLS Card from American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a hospital setting with complex patients.

Responsibilities

Summary:

Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
