Recreational Therapist/Activity Therapist - PRN

We are hiring for a PRN Activity Therapist! The Activity Therapist, as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, provides therapeutic recreational and activity services to patients of all ages with emotional or substance abuse issues at Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute. They develop and implement treatment plans applying AT Theory and methodology effectively.

• Art Therapy (Certified)
• Music Therapy (Certified)
• Drama Therapy (Certified)
• Recreational Therapy (Certified)
• Adventure Therapy (Certified)

Key responsibilities include:

1. Participating in treatment plan formulation, setting goals and objectives
2. Monitoring and documenting patient progress in group notes
3. Consulting with medical staff and outpatient providers to ensure quality care
4. Conducting process-oriented and educational group therapies
5. Reporting patient issues to community and state agencies as required by law

Additional duties involve ensuring safety, infection control, and supporting customer service standards. Employees may perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience; healthcare and inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
• Proper licensure in the respective discipline
• CPR certification and training in Management of Aggressive Behavior required
• Skills in communication, assessment, evaluation, and knowledge of mental health diagnosis and laws
• Proficiency in PC skills and typing
• Ability to pass background checks and physical assessments; physical ability to perform job duties
