Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Frisco, TX is seeking a full-time Recreational Therapist. The role involves leading group, 1:1 and co-treatment sessions, and engaging with a variety of neurologic patient populations in a fast-paced inpatient rehab setting.

Ideal candidates have a Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and CTRS certification. You will work with an interdisciplinary team and participate in community outings, with a schedule including one weekend day

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation is required.
• Current national CTRS certification required.
• Experience in a medical/rehabilitation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Seeking a full time Recreation Therapist interested in supporting our inpatient rehab hospital. Ideal candidates will have medical recreation therapy experience with neurologic experience preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable with and enjoy working with a variety of neurologic patient populations including TBI, CVA, SCI ,etc. Candidate should be able to handle a fast paced work setting, have good flexibility, and strong team work skills.

This candidate will work closely with the interdisciplinary team consisting of PT, OT, SLP, Neuropsychology, and Case Management to facilitate patient centered care. Typical responsibilities would include group, 1:1 and co-treatment sessions, and community outings. Position is for 40 hours/week and will include 1 weekend day each week (Saturday or sunday). Potential schedule (Tuesday- Saturday or Sunday- Thursday)

Minimum Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
• Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
• Should have certified experience in a medical setting.
