Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Norfolk, VA invites a dedicated Group Facilitator to join our detox and residential treatment team. You will lead group therapy, provide psychoeducation, and help clients build coping skills on their recovery journey.

This role is based in Norfolk and involves collaboration with clinical staff in a fast-paced medical environment. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, at least one year experience in treatment, and valid licensure to

Responsibilities

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed

What You'll Do

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or related field preferred
• Min. one year experience in treatment industry preferred
• Valid licensure necessary to practice as a clinician in this state- CSAC
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
