At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three categories: Play, Learn, and Compete. Our Recreational classes, part of the Learn category, focus on teaching strength, skill, and character through gymnastics.

As a Recreational Coach, you will help kids of all ages, genders, and abilities discover their strength and confidence. Whether you're a former gymnast, a fan of the Olympics, new to the sport, or passionate about teaching and positively influencing children, we have a supportive training program to help you succeed. Many successful coaches started with no prior gymnastics experience.

This role offers a fun and dynamic environment, suitable for those seeking to leave desk jobs, hospitality, retail, college students, stay-at-home parents, or caregivers looking for meaningful part-time work. All share a sense of responsibility, eagerness to learn, and a commitment to creating a safe, positive environment for children.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching progressive gymnastics classes across various departments, based on your interests and strengths.
  • Creating lesson plans aligned with skill levels, utilizing provided resources and training.
  • Maintaining consistent class attendance and honoring schedules.
  • Tracking skill development and communicating progress to parents via face-to-face interactions and online platforms.
  • Participating in paid training and development opportunities.
  • Assisting with light cleaning duties to maintain gym cleanliness.
Qualifications
  • Desire to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Responsibility, reliability, and leadership by example.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in gymnastics is preferred but not required; training provided.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children, with a safe and engaging demeanor.
  • Ability to work as part of a team aligned with our mission and values.
  • Experience in a gym or kid-friendly environment is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Effective communication skills with children and adults.
  • Comfort with noise levels and walking on uneven surfaces.
