Kulanu Academy seeks a dependable Recreation Assistant/Driver to support adults with developmental disabilities in on-site and community recreational programs. This role helps participants engage in meaningful activities, build social connections, and enjoy community experiences while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Formación

• Valid New York State driver's license required and must be maintained.
• Capable of safely driving up to 10-passenger vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Patience and respectful treatment of participants.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, set up, facilitate, and clean up recreational activities and events.
• Encourage participation and provide individualized support for independence and inclusion.
• Supervise participants during activities, outings, and transportation.
• Safely drive participants to programs in agency vehicles, including 10-passenger vans.
• Assist participants with entering/exiting vehicles and ensure seat belts are secured.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and report safety concerns or incidents.
• Maintain attendance records, notes, transportation logs, and reports accurately.
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Follow agency policies and training; perform other related duties as assigned.
