Youth Villages offers paid Recreation Therapy internship opportunities for bachelor’s and master’s students across residential and community programs. Placements are determined during interviews based on availability, academic requirements, and your experience.

Internships are nationwide during fall and spring semesters, with select Tennessee locations in the summer. Spots are limited, and rolling offers are made; an excellent gateway to a meaningful career in children’s mental health.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing a degree in Therapeutic Recreation (required).
• Experience working with children or adolescents is required.

Aufgaben

• Works under the supervision of a licensed/certified staff member.
• Shadows recreation therapists while engaging youth across programs.
• Facilitates group sessions 1–2.5 hours, about 3 times per week.
• Participates in treatment planning by evaluating and implementing goals.
• Completes timely documentation in an EMR system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
