Job summary

West Oaks Hospital in Houston, TX seeks an Activity Aide/Coordinator (PRN) to support recreation therapy services for patients across therapeutic programs. You will assist in designing and delivering activities to improve physical, mental, social and emotional well‑being, while coordinating events and ensuring safe, orderly recreation spaces.

The role involves collaborating with the Recreation Therapy team, maintaining program spaces, and documenting activities and patient responses accurately.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Licensure: CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications required.
• Experience: One year in program specialty, healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Recreation Therapist and Director of Recreation Therapy in designing and implementing therapeutic recreation services.
• Coordinate entertainment, exercise, relaxation, expression, music, art and other recreational programs.
• Assist hospital‑wide events and maintain recreational areas and equipment.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely; communicate patient information with manager.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe environment; assist with duties as assigned.
