Job summary

West Oaks Hospital is seeking an Activity Aide/Coordinator to join our team as a PRN position. The role supports the Recreation Therapist and Director of Recreation Therapy, helping design and implement therapeutic recreation programs aimed at improving patients’ physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.

The incumbent coordinates entertainment, exercise, relaxation, expression, music, art and other activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications required.
• One year of experience in program specialty; healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists recreation therapy department in hospital wide special events.
• Works with treatment team to develop a structured curriculum adaptable to various cultural background, heritage, and identity of patients.
• Maintains recreational areas and equipment.
• Completes documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintains observation of patients and shares appropriate information with manager.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe environment.
• Other duties as assigned
