Job summary

West Oaks Hospital is seeking an Activity Aide/Coordinator to assist the Recreation Therapist in designing and implementing therapeutic recreation services for patients across levels of care. The role supports entertainment, exercise, relaxation, music, and art programs to improve overall well-being.

The candidate should have a High School diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications, and about one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Licensure and certification Required: CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications.
• Experience Required: One year of experience in program specialty. Preferred: One year in healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists recreation therapy department in hospital wide special events.
• Works with treatment team to develop a structured curriculum adaptable to various cultural background, heritage, and identity of patients.
• Maintains recreational areas and equipment.
• Completes documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintains observation of patients and shares appropriate information with manager.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe environment.
• Other duties as assigned
