Job summary

Thrive Behavioral Hospital is seeking a compassionate Recreation Therapy Assistant to support our therapeutic programming and enhance daily patient experiences.

You will assist the Recreation Therapist, lead group and individual activities, and collaborate with clinical teams to promote healing in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in behavioral health or healthcare settings preferred.
• Background in recreation, psychology, kinesiology, social work, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage individuals with varying mental health needs in a supportive manner.
• Dependable, patient, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Therapist in planning and facilitating activities for patients.
• Lead recreational, social, and leisure programs aligned with treatment goals.

• Set up, organize, and maintain activity spaces and supplies.
