Thrive Behavioral Hospital is seeking a compassionate Recreation Therapy Assistant to support our therapeutic programming and enhance the daily experience of our patients. You will facilitate activities, support group and individual sessions, and help create a healing, structured environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or healthcare settings preferred.
Background in recreation, psychology, kinesiology, social work, or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist the Recreation Therapist in planning and facilitating therapeutic group and individual activities.
Lead recreational, social, and leisure-based programs that support patient treatment goals.
Encourage patient participation while ensuring safety and appropriate engagement.
Set up, organize, and maintain activity spaces and supplies.
Observe and document patient participation and progress as needed.
Collaborate with clinical and nursing teams to support overall patient care.
