Job summary

Spring Mountain Treatment Center, a 110-bed mental health facility in Nevada, seeks a PRN Activity Aide to support Activity Therapy under the supervision of the CTRS. The role involves planning and leading recreational activities, organizing outings, and documenting progress within ITPs.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, at least one year in a psychiatric setting, and experience in arts, sports, and recreation activities, with familiarity in behavior management and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a psychiatric facility.
• Experience assisting with recreation activities or focus groups preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with arts, sports and general recreation activities; ability to adapt activities to client participation.
• Knowledge of behavior management procedures; follow hospital rules, policies and procedures.
• New hires must attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift (8:00 am–4:30 pm).
• Background check including criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and FBI/ABI fingerprint check; BLS training required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct recreational activities under supervision.
• Request supplies, equipment, and maintenance as needed.
• Lead creative and outdoor activity planning.
• Assist in group provision and monitor behaviors during sessions.
• Record and interpret ITP measures for Activity Therapy.
• Provide a range of recreation and therapeutic activities as directed.
