Job summary

IU Health's Riley Hospital Downtown seeks a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to provide therapeutic and leisure services, developing individualized plans and supporting patient care.

Responsibilities include consulting with physicians, documenting progress, educating patients, and coordinating scheduling and training for staff, while ensuring accurate clinical records and workload management.

Qualifications

• CTRS certification required.
• BLS certification through the AHA required.
• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Recreation Therapy Standards of Care.

Responsibilities

• Develop individual treatment plans and provide therapeutic recreation services.
• Consult physicians regarding referrals to recreational therapy.
• Document patient programs and progress; educate patients and others.
• Willingly participate in activities supporting patient care and department operations.
• Coordinate staff/patient scheduling, orientation and training.
• Ensure proper clinical documentation and monitor workload.
