The Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a PRN Recreation Therapist, Art Therapist, or Music Therapist. You will be responsible for planning recreation activities tailored to various patient programs, ensuring you work closely with the interdisciplinary team and offer uninterrupted patient care.

Gulfport Behavioral Health System, is a 92-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services both inpatient and outpatient.

Position Summary:

Join a team where the PRN Recreation Therapist, Art Therapist, or Music Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing recreation activities for each assigned program. This includes defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to children, adolescent, adult and military patients.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Prefer certification or licensure by state and/or national governing body in of the following areas: art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of CPI – de-escalation and restraint training prior to assisting with a restraining procedure or within 90 days of employment. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
