Job summary

Responsibilities

• Deliver recreational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning, and interventions.
• Plan, schedule, and lead activities to improve leisure, socialization, fitness, cognitive function, and creativity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical team to support psychosocial needs.
• Track participation, monitor progress, and document outcomes accurately and timely.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions with compliant clinical notes.
• Participate in psychiatric medication management meetings as needed.
• Observe and adjust plans to meet individualized goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of recreational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, in accordance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
• Plan, schedule, and lead activities designed to improve leisure skills, socialization, physical fitness, cognitive functioning, and creativity (e.g., arts and crafts, exercise, group activities).
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary clinical team to support each patient's overall psychosocial needs.
• Track patient participation, monitor progress, and document therapeutic outcomes accurately and timely.
• Facilitate and document individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring detailed, compliant clinical notes.
• Participate in psychiatric medication management meetings with patients and psychiatrists as needed.
• Observe and provide feedback on patient engagement during activities, adjusting plans as necessary to meet individualized goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy, physiology, psychology, human anatomy, CTRS, or a related experienced.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to engage with diverse patient populations with compassion, creativity, and professionalism.
