Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
Completion of at least one year of college/university work with a specialization in recreation, physical education, group work, or a closely related field.
One year of teaching or conducting groups or classes in the major fields of the assigned activity.

Special Requirements

Knowledge of common outdoor and indoor sports and games and methods of playing them.
Organizational skills for conducting individual group activities.
Knowledge of rules and regulations for sports and games.
Fundamental techniques of working and teaching handicrafts.
Instruction in specialized classes such as special interest, dance, and fitness.
Fundamentals of first aid and CPR.
