Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks & Recreation seeks a Recreation Attendant to ensure safe, orderly operations of our facilities and to assist in set-up, cleanup, and event support. You will monitor activities, enforce safety rules, and provide friendly public service on weekends and evenings.
The role involves handling cash at the point of sale, checking in participants, maintaining locker rooms and ice arena seating, and assisting with program development and staff communication.
Responsible to ensure that all recreational activities are accomplished in a safe and orderly manner for the Parks & Recreation Department. Assists in set-up, take-down and facility cleaning for special events. Assists in the development and implementation of recreational programming. Works weekends and evenings.

Does not supervise; many minor problems daily, and an occasional major one where supervisor is usually required for help and instruction; the consequences of error, carelessness or mistaken judgment require minimal effort to recover.
A recreational facility where conditions are pleasant; good, clean conditions where accidents/hazards are negligible; requires short periods of moderate lifting, pushing or pulling (26-50 lbs.).
This position falls under the Borough’s Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) Exposure Control Program as it is reasonably anticipated that infrequent exposure to blood or other bodily fluids may occur while performing some job duties.
